What to Expect During Your Screening

Before the Appointment

• Remove nail polish from fingers and toes (melanoma can occur under nails)
• Avoid heavy makeup on the face
• Wear comfortable, easy-to-remove clothing
• Note any moles or spots that have changed recently

During the Screening (approximately 45–60 minutes)

Patient history — discussion of risk factors, sun exposure history, family history, and any concerns
